Walk the North Country Hiking Trail while surrounded by miles and miles of Hiawatha National Forest. Venture into 'blueberry, blackberry, and black bear country'. Find the elusive Morrell Mushrooms. See the black bears at Newberry's Oswald Black Bear Ranch thru Sept. Attend the Blueberry Festival in Paradise mid-August. Savor the flavor of locally made pies, jams/jelly's and maple syrup in the Spring. Join the harvest of the flooded cranberry fields near the famous Whitefish Pont Shipwreck Museum in the Fall or check out the famous Tahquamenon Falls (second only to Niagrara Falls) any time of year.
Visit the local Iroquois Pointe Light Station, walk its boardwalk or climb the tower for a clear view of Canada. Drive to the top of Mission Hill for a spectacular sunset view of Spectacle Lake, St. Mary's River, Lake Superior, and Canada, all at once. While up there visit the historic Mission Hill Cemetery.
